A Day in the Life of a Camper

7:45 a.m.

Wake-Up Time: Campers can head to the Health Center for morning medications or simply get dressed for a fun new day of camp! Day campers begin to arrive.


8:15 a.m.

Flag Raising with All Campers: Hear announcements and sing a camp song.


8:30 a.m.

Breakfast: Time to fuel up for the day! There will be a cereal, toast or bagel option as well as a hot meal each morning. We also cater to different diets, such as: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, kosher and blended.


9:30 a.m.

Activity Periods 1-3: Teams of campers and their counselors rotate through different activities morning and afternoon. All activities are challenge-by-choice!


12:30 p.m.

Lunch


1:15 p.m.

After-Lunch Meds and Rest: Head with your counselor to get your after-lunch medications as needed. Then, have a quiet time for campers and staff. Campers often write letters, play cards or boardgames, read, chitchat or nap.


2:30 p.m.

Activity Periods 4-5


4:30 p.m.

Snack: And then Day Camp prepares to head home while Overnight camp prepares for one more activity period before dinner.


6:00 p.m.

Dinner: Chow down after a long day of camp and get excited for an evening activity!


7:15 p.m.

Flag Lowering: Reflect on the highlights of the day, learn who earned the Golden Plunger for cleanest cabin, and get pumped for Evening Activity!


7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Evening Activity: A thrilling time for all of overnight camp to have fun together! Activities are different each night (ex. campfire, pool party, bingo, organized mass chaos, talent show, dance). Then it’s time for bedtime medications (if needed) and cabin chats to celebrate the successes of the day.


9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Lights Out: Exactly when this happens depends on the age of the campers in the cabin (earlier for younger campers). Night lights can be provided as can soft music, and many campers bring their favorite stuffed animal or blanket to rest up for the next fun-filled day.

**Siblings, friends and allies are welcome at day camp, but spaces for overnight camp are reserved for campers with Type 1 Diabetes.
